Docshape Terms of Use

Last updated 26 September 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Docshape website, the Docshape dashboard, clinic websites hosted by Docshape, and any related Docshape digital tools (together, the "Docshape Services"). By creating a Docshape account, paying for a Docshape plan, publishing a site on Docshape, or using the Docshape Services, you agree to these Terms.

Docshape is software for doctors and clinics. Docshape is not a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, lab, insurer, or telemedicine provider. Docshape does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or form a doctor-patient relationship with anyone.

If you do not agree, do not use Docshape.

1. Parties

Docshape ("we", "us") is the product and the operator of the Docshape Services.

Subscriber means the doctor, clinic, or organisation that holds the Docshape account, and staff they invite (for example an assistant).

Patient / visitor means someone who views a clinic website on Docshape or submits a booking. Their clinical relationship is with that practice, not with Docshape.

If you accept these Terms for a practice, you confirm you are allowed to bind that practice.

2. What Docshape does

Depending on the Docshape plan, Subscribers may:

  • Build and publish a practice website on Docshape (profile, services, articles, contact)
  • Let patients request or book slots on that Docshape-hosted site
  • Manage appointments, desk workflow, and charts in the Docshape dashboard
  • Issue prescriptions and referrals as records of the practice
  • See clinic finance for visits marked seen or paid in Docshape
  • Offer Global Consult: prepaid international video / second-opinion bookings with Docshape checkout, Meet link delivery, and doctor payout after Docshape's commission
  • Connect or buy a custom domain where Docshape offers that feature

Access follows the Docshape plan chosen at signup or in Docshape billing (Lite, Starter, Pro, Global Consult, or successor names). Features not on the plan are not included.

3. What Docshape does not do

Docshape does not:

  • Provide medical advice, emergency care, or a substitute for a licensed clinician
  • Employ or supervise the doctors who use Docshape
  • Guarantee that a slot will be honoured, that a doctor is available, or any clinical result
  • Collect, hold, or settle clinical-system / in-clinic consultation fees paid on the spot to the doctor. Those remain between patient and practice
  • Verify every credential, licence listing, or claim a doctor publishes on Docshape. Accuracy of the clinic site is the Subscriber's duty

Global Consult is different: for prepaid online video consultations, Docshape does collect and hold the patient's fee at checkout, then sends the doctor's share (minus commission), as described in the Payment Terms and Refund Policy.

If there is a medical emergency, use local emergency services. Do not use Docshape as an emergency channel.

4. Two appointment models and money

Docshape supports two patient appointment models with different money flows:

  • Global Consult (online video / second opinion): the patient pays the consultation fee through Docshape checkout. Docshape holds that payment, delivers booking confirmation and meeting access instructions, then settles the doctor's net share after platform commission
  • Clinical-system appointment (in-clinic / on the spot): the patient pays the doctor or practice directly. Docshape does not collect or hold that fee

For Global Consult specifically:

  • The clinical relationship remains between patient and treating doctor. Docshape is the software and payment facilitator for that online fee, not the clinician
  • Delivery of the paid digital service means: booking confirmation, payment confirmation, and access instructions (for example a Google Meet link) for the scheduled slot
  • Cancellation, reschedule, doctor no-show, and refund rules for these prepaid fees are set out in the Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy
  • Patients raise payment or no-show concerns through Help & Support on the doctor's site. The doctor responds first. If the doctor does not respond within 48 hours, Docshape operators may message the doctor and decide the case under those policies
  • Docshape may hold or reverse the doctor's payout for a consult that is refunded

5. Docshape accounts

You must give accurate account details, keep passwords private, and only give Docshape dashboard access to people you trust. You are responsible for actions taken under your Docshape login, including by assistants.

You may not run a Docshape site for a practice you do not operate or represent, impersonate a licensed clinician, or use Docshape for unlawful practice.

Docshape may suspend or close an account for unpaid fees, abuse, security risk, or material breach of these Terms.

6. Clinic websites and content on Docshape

Text, photos, bios, services, articles, and similar material you publish on Docshape are yours (or licensed to you). You must keep them lawful, accurate, and not misleading, including clinical claims.

Docshape hosting your content is not Docshape's authorship, review, or endorsement of any treatment, drug, test, or clinician.

Third-party names, drug names, and logos on clinic sites or on the Docshape marketing site may be trademarks of their owners. Docshape does not endorse a product or company unless Docshape says so in writing.

7. Bookings and records in Docshape

When a patient books on a clinic site hosted by Docshape, that is a request to that practice. Docshape is not a party to the clinical relationship. The practice decides whether to confirm, change, refuse, or complete the visit.

The software can store booking details and chart data entered by the practice or submitted by the patient. The practice decides why that information is collected and how it is used for care. Docshape processes and stores it so the subscribed Docshape software can run.

The Subscriber must obtain consents and follow privacy and medical-record laws that apply to their practice. Default booking-consent wording in Docshape is a tool; the Subscriber must check it against their duties.

The Docshape operator console does not show patient names, phones, emails, reasons, notes, MR numbers, diagnoses, or chart files by default. It may show operational facts such as booking counts, visit type, Docshape invoice status, which clinic the booking belongs to, and Global Consult dispute metadata (appointment id, fee, payment status, scheduled time, dispute reason). Dispute threads may include limited contact details only as needed to resolve a prepaid Global Consult payment case.

8. Acceptable use of Docshape

You may not:

  • Impersonate a clinician
  • Upload malware, scrape or access other users' data, or attack the product
  • Interfere with another clinic's Docshape site
  • Present Docshape as the treating clinician

9. Availability

Docshape aims to keep the product running. Docshape does not promise zero downtime. Hosting, email, payments, DNS, and other third parties can fail. Do not treat Docshape as the only way to reach patients in an emergency.

Docshape may change features. Material changes to these Terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Docshape after that date is acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Intellectual property

The Docshape product, layout, software, branding, and Docshape marketing copy are owned by Docshape or its licensors. You receive a limited licence to use Docshape for your practice while your Docshape subscription is in good standing. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell Docshape.

Content you upload remains yours. You grant Docshape a licence to host, display, and process it only as needed to provide the Docshape Services.

11. Fees, warranty, and liability

Subscriber fees are for Docshape software access, not for medical services. Plan prices, billing period, and taxes are shown at Docshape checkout and in Docshape billing.

Global Consult patient fees are consultation fees for the treating doctor, collected via Docshape checkout. Docshape's commission and refund rules for those fees are in the Payment Terms and Refund Policy.

Docshape is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Docshape is not liable for clinical decisions, missed visits, patient injury, regulatory action against a practice, or healthcare a clinic provides or fails to provide.

Docshape's liability for the software is limited to the subscription fees you paid to Docshape in the three months before the claim, except where law forbids that cap. For a Global Consult payment dispute, Docshape's monetary liability is limited to the consultation fee collected for that booking.

12. Related policies

These Terms incorporate by reference the Privacy Policy, Payment Terms, Cancellation Policy, Refund Policy, Service Delivery Policy, and Disclaimer published on the Docshape site. If a Global Consult payment rule conflicts with a general clinic-fee statement elsewhere, the Global Consult sections of the Refund and Cancellation policies control for that prepaid online fee.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be brought in the competent courts of Pakistan.

14. Contact

Docshape product and legal questions: info@docshape.org. That address is not for medical emergencies. Clinical complaints belong with the treating practice. Global Consult payment or no-show disputes start in Help & Support on the doctor's site.
